Stand hunting

We offer two types of hunting here at Stora Sundby.

Stand hunting Wild Boar

From November to February, we offer you the opportunity to focus entirely on stand hunting of wild boar – an exciting form of hunting and a wonderful outdoor experience. The hunt takes place on moonlit evenings and nights, from high-seats and hides. The wild boar calmly come out to eat, giving you a great chance for a close shot at a stationary animal. Guests are looked after by the estate’s gamekeepers, who will show you to your stand, pick you up at the end of the hunt and help you to find and carry home your bagged game.

Self-catering accommodation is provided in the Steward’s House close to the castle, with space for 8-12 guests, or in Sand, the house on the shore of Lake Hjälmaren, which can accommodate 6-8 people.

Stand hunting Roe Buck

During the second half of August, we offer stand hunting of roe buck on fields, in clearings and in the forest. The hunt is based in high-seats, but in some cases may be combined with the option of stalking. The roe buck hunting is run on a relatively independent basis – we show you the area and then you are responsible for your own transport. There is also an option of mixed shooting of pigeons, geese and wild boar – please contact us for more information.

The shoots are suitable for parties of 3-5 guns. Self-catering accommodation is provided in the Steward’s House close to the castle, with space for 8-12 guests, or in Sand, the house on the shore of Lake Hjälmaren, which can accommodate 6-8 people.

Animals are brought down in line with current rules, and prices are as listed.
